On June 20, 2018, visit Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bay at 8:30 a.m., depart from the Quality Hotel in Nanxia Town, where you live, to Antelope Canyon, and drive for more than 4 hours.

The scenery we saw before can be said to be a grand view, magnificent. Today we are going to look at the small scene: it is to drill down into the ground to see the uncanny power of nature. Not only can it create such a large scene, but its small caves are also beautiful.

Although this place is remote, it has a lot of tourists. All groups need to line up, divide into groups, and visit under the leadership of local guides. The team leader said hello in advance: because you have to climb the stairs, don’t wear skirts and don’t bring any bags; when you get inside, you need to take pictures faster.

The whole cave is not particularly long, less than 500 meters.

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is one of the seven wonders of geological photography in the world. It is located in the north of Arizona and is a famous slot canyon. The closest city is Page , which is part of the Navajo Nation Reservation. Legend has it that this place used to be a place where antelopes often haunted and inhabited, so it got the reputation of “Antelope Canyon”.

Antelope Canyon is divided into Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. Looking down from the air, the Upper Antelope Canyon is like a rill created by flowing water in the rocks and sand, while the Lower Antelope Canyon is hidden in the ground under the feet, which is very mysterious. Dangyang The light shines on two deep and quiet canyons, and the dancing of light and shadow releases its charm here. It has become a paradise for photographers, and its dangers cannot stop photographers in their footsteps.

To enter the Upper Antelope Canyon, you must report to a group, which is divided into ordinary groups and photography groups, and the prices vary greatly. You must have professional equipment and a tripod to participate in the photography group. The tour guide of the photography group will provide you with thoughtful service. In addition to explaining to you, he will also inform you of every suitable location for shooting; Clear the scene for you and prohibit other group tourists from walking around; they will also sprinkle sand when you are shooting to increase the effect of light and shadow.

We went to Lower Antelope Canyon. Known in Navajo as “Hasdeztwazi” (meaning “arched spiral rock”), Lower Antelope Canyon is closed for about nine months of the year. The Lower Antelope Canyon is underground, so you need to go down the stairs, and you can’t see the beam of light inside. If there is rainfall upstream, then the Lower Antelope Canyon is not open, because the Lower Antelope Canyon is under a desert. Take a look at the environment where the Lower Antelope Canyon is located.

When it rains upstream, the downstream where Antelope Canyon is located is likely to suffer from flash floods. In 1997, 12 tourists entered the Lower Antelope Canyon without an Indian guide, and finally failed to escape the sudden flash flood, and only one survived. So today’s Antelope Canyon can only be entered under the leadership of an Indian guide.

In the distance is the parking lot of the scenic spot.

An important condition for visiting Antelope Canyon is to get out of the sun. Fortunately, the day we went, the scorching sun was in the sky, and we were in the desert again, making people dizzy from the sun.

We first sat in the visitor center, waiting for the arrangement, while watching the performances of the local aboriginal people.

See how strong the Indians are in spite of their tan! After watching the performance, the groups were announced. Tourists are waiting in line.

The entrance of the Lower Antelope Canyon is only one person wide and at the same height as the ground. It is unrecognizable from a distance. You need to climb metal stairs to go down.

Here’s what happens when we go down the stairs.

After entering, drop down about 50 meters.

The erosion of torrents and strong winds for millions of years has formed the most unique cave in the geological history of the world. In this sandstone canyon shaped by water and time, there are thousands of stone pillars Only one person can pass through the narrow part, and an Eight Immortals table can only be placed in the wide part. Touching the rock mass with hands feels like touching a work of art, only the fine sand under our feet constantly reminds us of the creativity of nature and the ruthlessness of time. We can’t help but admire the vicissitudes of the universe and the magic of the Creator.

There are so many fantastic views, we can only choose a few to post here.

Because the stone is that kind of red, like the Danxia landform; that kind of red stone is very smooth to the touch, and has been ground to a very sandy feel. In addition, the angle of meeting the sunlight is particularly good, and the sunlight will produce diffuse reflection on the stone, reflecting a very strange brilliance. It has an incredible soft curve, and the rock itself contains a variety of minerals. Under the natural light from the top of the cave, it presents rich orange, red, purple and other colors, which are very gorgeous. In this way, every time the flood washes, it polishes the stone round and smooth like a craftsman, and you can’t feel that you are in the cracks of the stone at all. And with the effect of the photo, it is very beautiful. It’s like being in a kind of fairyland. The effect is very good, and the feeling is completely different!

As travel and photography enthusiasts, under such beautiful scenery, of course we have to leave our own shadows.

Here, I want to highlight the man with the black hood behind me in the last photo above. He is the tour guide of our group, carrying a large water tank on his back, and needs to drink water constantly to replenish water. A young man in his 20s, with a sun-tanned face and a little shy. He kept calling us on the way, for fear of getting lost; he took the trouble to adjust the settings of the camera and mobile phone for us to take the most beautiful pictures; at the same time, he took pictures for us at our request. Very nice guy, but it’s a pity that he doesn’t understand the language and doesn’t have a photo of his face.

We finally climbed out of the cave through this steel ladder.

There are too many beautiful photos of Antelope Canyon , I have carefully selected these few photos. To see other beautiful pictures, please go to my qq album: Travel to the United States Album 9.1 – Antelope Canyon.

Horseshoe Bay

Leave the Chinese restaurant at 2:10 and arrive at Horseshoe Bay after more than an hour.

Take a look at Horseshoe Bend on Google Satellite Map:

This is a section of the Colorado River. Big floods break out every year, and a large amount of sediment is washed down from the upper reaches. Just in this section of Horseshoe Bay, these rocks and sediment are washed away, and gradually deeper and deeper river channels are formed. This water circles a shape like a horseshoe.

There is still a long way from the parking lot to the Horseshoe Bay attraction, so you have to walk there. The sun was very strong, I walked fast, and I was the first to arrive at the scenic spot. Ah, Horseshoe Bend in America , that’s it.

Horseshoe Bay, I have seen it in western China before, but it is not so beautiful. Everything here is pure natural, there are no tickets, no staff, not even guardrails. So tourists are very careful to move on the edge of the cliff. Look, I’m sitting on the edge of a cliff to take a picture.

Unexpectedly, at the Horseshoe Bay scenic spot, I suddenly found that the leather shoes had escaped from the country. (I later remembered that when I was in the “mirror of the sky” in the Great Salt Lake a few days ago, the soles of my shoes were covered with thick salt lumps. In order to remove these salt lumps, I took off the shoes and beat them hard, causing the connection to break.) Not at all walk. In desperation, he came up with a way to tie it up with a handkerchief, and tried his best to move around. Misfortunes never come singly, under the scorching sun, the little fox felt dizzy and suffered from heat stroke. We walked back to the parking lot with difficulty. After getting into the car, the little fox was relieved by the cool air from the air conditioner.
