December 15 afternoon: Chicago to Las Vegas (about 3.5 hours flight time)
The evening of December 15: Hotel check in, watch the Fantasy show
December 16: Hotel Las Vegas + KA show at night
December 17: Depart Las Vegas, take Route 66, visit the Grand Canyon, drive to Page.
December 18: Horseshoe Bend + Antelope Canyon, drive back to Las Vegas.
Dec. 19: Hanging out in Las Vegas. Fly back to Chicago in the evening.
First, let me summarize the itinerary. You can make a reference according to your own time.
Las Vegas shows, basically at night. Tired of shopping during the day, eating a big meal at night, and then going to the show, I think it is very perfect.
When visiting hotels in Vegas, we basically visited almost the first day. It was a bit boring to wander around Vegas on the last day. However, it is very tiring after a day of walking. It can be said to be a runaway. Therefore, if you have time, it is best to split it into two days.
From Vegas to the Grand Canyon, and then to Antelope Canyon, we set off on the morning of the 17th and returned to Vegas at about 7 pm on the 18th. Time is not in a hurry, but driving is more difficult. I will mention some tips for self- driving in this line later .
Las Vegas show
Watching shows, gambling, and eating buffets are known as the three must-do things in Las Vegas. I personally feel that if you go to Vegas and don’t go to the show, you may not experience the real Vegas. My husband and I watched two shows. All feel very good, recommend to everyone.
Fantasy @ Luxor

Fantasy show is Vegas’ most famous adult show. (Only 18 years old and above can view, and need to check Photo ID to enter). Compared with the previous Jubilee of Moulin Rouge , Fantasy attracted a lot of men and women who came to Vegas with its sexy and seductive. That’s right, it’s not just boys. Location selection: If you buy early, you can buy photos of the front row. The show is not big. The original price of the ticket we bought at that time was 59 dollars. It was in the fourth row, and the visual effect was good. In fact, the price of the first row was also checked for $5. If you plan ahead, you can also get a good first-row seat. Because the audience in the front row will have some interaction with the show girl.

Cirque du Soleil: KA @ MGM Grand
In fact, before I went to Vegas, I read some previous guides, and everyone recommended the O show. However, because I watched the Han Show in Wuhan last year, I felt that the O show was similar to the Han show, so I gave up the idea of watching the O show. But, friends, if you haven’t seen The House of Dancing Water in Macau or similar water shows, I still recommend O Show.
While watching the Raiders, my husband was attracted by the KA show and told me that it was a big show that Cirque du Soleil spent a lot of money on. Although the ticket price is a bit expensive, I still reluctantly bought two tickets for about 100 dollars. The position is probably in the front row of the backcourt. It feels a little far.
The total investment of KA show is 220 million US dollars, of which the stage cost 165 million US dollars. This high-tech stage, which has been built with huge sums of money, seems to be bland, but with the development of the plot, it rotates 360 degrees in the show without dead ends. With lighting and projection, it will turn into a sea at a time, and a mountain at a time. , it will be a forest for a while, and a desert for a while. When I was in the show, I felt that the sound effect of the show was very good. Later, I learned that there were speakers in each seat, which really achieved surround sound.
The story roughly tells the story of a pair of twins who embark on a journey full of difficulties and obstacles to fulfill their destiny. To be honest, after watching a show, I only understood part of the plot. Except at the beginning of the show, an English monologue introduced the background. Throughout the performance, the actors spoke the bird language of an unknown country (maybe French, since I don’t understand it, so I won’t guess.) However, What amazes me is that there are many Chinese elements in this show, including Peking Opera, Chinese Kung Fu, and Chinese acrobatics.
This is a fighting scene, the stage is constantly spinning, the actors rely on skilled skills and the pillars spent on the stage to move, pay attention, the actors did not lose Weiya. If you are not careful, you will fall off the stage.
I think the most amazing thing about this show should be the big wheel. It is said that this is the stunt of Mexican artists, called walking the cage. The artist also performed skipping rope on this cage. I was terrified to see that, for fear that one of them would not stand firm and fall.
When we bought the tickets, we also read the recommendation of a girl on Zhihu. She said that the KA show is an audio-visual feast worth enjoying, and it is the first choice for watching the show. It can be regarded as a benchmark for circus performances. There are only two kinds, they are better than KA show, and they are not as good-looking as KA show.
Although, without watching the other two highly rated O show and LR show, I dare not say that the KA show is the most worth watching show in Vegas. However, the exquisite mechanical design and the superb skills of the actors really make me feel that it is worth the money. No wonder many friends couldn’t help standing up to applaud the actors after watching it!
After watching the KA show, I saw that there are many Chinese actors in the cast list. This is probably the show with the most Chinese elements that Cirque du Soleil has ever lined up! Must call crazy for it.

The Blue Man that my husband loves is also recommended by many people, and it is suitable for all ages. I didn’t see it in the end. Just keep it as a reason to visit Vegas again. For friends who plan to come to Vegas, I personally really recommend it, choose one or two shows that you are interested in. Sure to add more surprises to your Vegas trip.
Route 66, Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon
Starting from Vegas, two days, 700 miles, through a section of the American Mother Road Route 66, we drove to the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. The scenery along the way is magnificent, and people can not help but sigh the magical power of nature!
Route 66
Route 66, starting in Chicago and ending in California, is known as America’s Mother Road. The current Route 66 is basically defeated, and many places are also covered by the newly built expressway. While doing the walkthrough, I found that from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, you can take a detour on the original Route 66. Immediately decided to explore it.
The town of Kingman is the largest town on Route 66 on our trip. This restaurant on the way can be said to be a scene that everyone who takes Route 66 will not miss.
Kingman has a steam train, which symbolizes the pivotal role of Route 66 in the development of the American economy.
On the way through another small town Hackberry, it can be said to be quite defeated. Dilapidated cars and dilapidated houses should probably be a sign of the loneliness of Route 66.
There are very few cars on Route 66, so there is no pressure to stand in the middle of the road to take pictures.
Williams is the last town before entering the Grand Canyon. Much like a small resort. If you have time, wander around the town and try the local restaurants. Fill the car with gas and you’re ready to head to the Grand Canyon!
Great canyon
The Grand Canyon is located on the Kaibab Plateau in Arizona. The total length is 446 kilometers. According to Wikipedia, this is one of the longest canyons in the world. When you see the Grand Canyon for the first time, you will be amazed by the magnificent sight in front of you. The red stones add a charming color to the Grand Canyon.
Coming out of the Grand Canyon, the sky was completely dark. We need to drive two hours to Page (the town where Antelope Canyon is located). There were no street lights throughout the two-hour road, and it was pitch black. We have no cell phone signal either. There are also almost no cars. Fortunately, the route was set in advance. Otherwise, what happens on the road is really ineffective. Might just call 911 for help.
However, because of this, we saw the most beautiful starry sky on the road. A sky full of stars, Gorgeous! Parking on the road is too dangerous, so I didn’t take pictures, and everyone imagined the starry sky by themselves.
Horseshoe Bay
Early the next morning, we decided to go to Horseshoe Bay to watch the sunrise . As it turns out, don’t watch the sunrise in winter! Mrs. is cold. It felt like my hands were freezing. Due to the terrain, Horseshoe Bay is not suitable for watching the sunrise. When the sun sets in the afternoon, it is the best time to photograph Horseshoe Bend.
Horseshoe Bend, as the name suggests, is shaped like a horseshoe. Because the mountain contains a lot of iron and manganese metals, the mountain has a natural golden red color under the sunlight. The creator of this Horseshoe Bend, the Colorado River, is emerald-green in natural light. The entire Horseshoe Bend is simply magical in the sun.
Before I went, I saw a lot of beautiful pictures of Horseshoe Bay on the Internet, but I really want to take pictures of the sun completely hitting the lake only in summer. Horseshoe Bay in winter, there will always be a little shade of the sun. However, this does not affect the beauty of Horseshoe Bay.
Horseshoe Bend is a completely free attraction. No one manages it either. In this place, under the stone is a cliff. As someone who is a little afraid of heights, I really dare not walk too far. I can only cowardly take a group photo inside the stone.
The last attraction on our trip was Antelope Canyon. Antelope Canyon is the most famous slot canyon in the world. After millions of years of sand, gravel and floods, today’s Antelope Canyon was formed.
To enter the Antelope Canyon, you must take a local tour (otherwise you cannot enter the Antelope Canyon!). The tour we took was $45 per person. The duration is about 2.5 hours. Get on an open-top mountain bike from Page town and head to Antelope Canyon. The road into the Antelope Canyon is very windy and sandy, and the whole body is covered with sand when a car sits down.
There is not a single ray of light in Antelope Canyon in winter. Moreover, because the sun is in the southern hemisphere, the light in Antelope Canyon is relatively dim. However, the charm of the canyon remains.
Follow your local guide who will show you the best photo spots. Definitely feed your camera.
From Antelope Canyon back to Vegas, there is about a 5-hour drive. Dare not to make more stops, we set off back to Vegas. There was a problem with the mobile phone navigation on the road, and I almost went to the police uncle for help. However, the scenery along the way is really intoxicating.
On the last day, we were basically exhausted. Wandering the streets of Vegas with two bulky legs. On the evening of the 19th, we took the night flight back to Chicago. 5 days 4 nights journey, very satisfied. At the end of the travelogue, I would like to make a point for myself based on my own experience.
