Route planning from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon at Horseshoe Bay in the Antelope Canyon

I’ve been struggling for a long time, going from LV to the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bay, Route 66, and then back to LV or straight back to LA. Would you like to go to the Antelope Canyon first, or is it better to go to the Grand Canyon first?

So, I asked my good friend Mr.L for the following questions:

  1. If you go to the Grand Canyon first, you can pass through the Hoover Dam and want to see the sunset that day?
  2. If you go to Paige’s Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bay first, what time you can finish watching, and then go to the Grand Canyon to see the sunset that day, right?
  3. If you don’t go to the Grand Canyon, is the first day trip too loose? The next day in the Grand Canyon all day, waiting for the sunset, will it be boring? Look at the strategy said not long before the visual fatigue.

Mr.L soon gave me an reply.

On the first day, Las Vegas, via the Hoover Dam, Route 66, went to the Grand Canyon (west route tour + watch the sunset) to live at the south gate of the Grand Canyon (Tusayan).
The whole journey of 530 kilometers takes 5 and a half hours.

The next morning from Tuasayan into the south gate on the eastern line of the Grand Canyon, through the desert watch tower, out of the east gate, north to Peggy. Spend the afternoon browsing Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bay, Live Peggy.

Early in the morning of the third day, I left back to Las Vegas. Taking Peggy back to Los Angeles is a bit far (about 900 km).

in summary,

Question 1: It is too late.

Question 2: It depends on the time you leave from Las Vegas and when you book your Upper Antelope Canyon tour.

Question 3: Do not go to the canyon, Peggy’s arrangement is relatively loose point, the next day in the Grand Canyon, the east route can drive, the west line needs to do the park bus, not boring, but the visual fatigue may be a little.
