This trip, we set out from Las Vegas, visited the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon, a total of 4 days, the following is our itinerary for your reference.
Days: 4 days (5/3 – 5/7)
Number of people: 6
Cost: 1000 (the ticket from Seattle to Las Vegas was bought too late)
Tips:
- Check the weather in advance, the weather forecast is quite accurate. We originally planned to go at the end of May. Later, the weather was all 37°, but at the beginning of May, it was only 28°, so we decided to choose the beginning of May. Comfort is the first guarantee of a pleasant journey.
- Annual Park Pass.
- If you want to see the show and Antelope Canyon, you must grab tickets in advance.
- Mobile phone photographers: Samsung S8 you deserve it.
Itinerary: Day0 Seattle -> Las Vagas Living in Las Vegas personally thinks that Las Vegas is no fun, just a 1.5mile long main road, all kinds of hotels and casinos. It’s okay to go for a walk at night, see the pyramids, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower. Pick a unique hotel to stay in (because the Las Vegas hotel is really cost-effective, the Venetian we stayed in seems to be ~250 a night, you can also take a boat, the little brother in Italy will sing Italian opera for you:) If you have been to Macau, you will feel that Las Vegas Really super boring.
If there is a free show, the fountain in the Music Palace is recommended by many people. To be honest, it’s too general. If you don’t have time or are too tired, you really don’t have to go. You really won’t miss anything. There are many other shows, remember to book tickets in advance. I didn’t buy the Cirque du Soleil I wanted to see the most, resentment. . .
If you go with all girls or all boys, it is recommended to watch a magical show 🙂 Haha life is all about experience. (Although I have a thief’s heart but no courage, there is only one person in Las Vegas , I dare not make a mistake)
Day1 Las Vegas -> Hoover Dam -> Grand Canyon live near the Grand Canyon (drive ~ 4 hours)
Hoover Dam: It was not in our itinerary, but we will pass by on the way to the Grand Canyon. It is a bonus attraction. But parking is super difficult, there are too many people and we didn’t find the best shooting spot, so I think it’s quite ordinary, and it’s okay to take a card on the way.
Tour time: half an hour
Grand Canyon: No entry is allowed at 5:00 pm. In addition, there is an hour time difference with Las Vegas . Be careful not to miss it. The best time to go to the Grand Canyon is in the evening. So just step on it. Of course, if you want to go hiking, you should go earlier. I have heard that hiking is not very attractive, and there is nothing very special.
Tour time: not hiking 3 hours is enough
Day2 Grand Canyon -> Horseshoe Bend -> Antelope Canyon -> Lake Powell -> Page live in Page (drive ~ 4 hours)
This road is the famous historical route 66, and the scenery along the way is very good. Be prepared to get out of the car every now and then for a while. lol
Horseshoe Bend: Not much to say, definitely worth a visit. But be sure to pay attention to safety. The day we went there was a couple taking pictures and the girl fell off. (I didn’t know the news until I saw the news with my own eyes)
In addition, there is no shelter around Horseshoe Bay, so wearing a hat and sunscreen is a good choice. There is also a lot of sand, so pay attention to wearing suitable shoes, and walk about 1 mile from the parking lot to the photo spot.
Tour time: 1 hour
Antelope Canyon: The Antelope Canyonn is caused by the impact of water currents. Looking at the texture of the stones, it really feels like the water is rushing past. It is like the lines left on the corners of the eyes when the white horses pass the time.
The Antelope Canyon is divided into the Upper Antelope Canyon and the Lower Antelope Canyon. I feel that it is actually the difference between the main scenic spot and the secondary scenic spot. Many people recommend the Lower Antelope Canyon, but that is because he has been to the Upper Antelope Canyon. Although the tickets for the Upper Antelope Canyon are more expensive, if you choose one of the two, you should go to the Antelope Canyon.
Antelope Canyon must book a tour, you are not allowed to go by yourself. There are several websites and we booked this Tour Packages – Antelope Canyon Navajo Tours . Great if you’re lucky enough to book a 12 o’clock tour. We only booked to go in at 3:00 pm and the sun stopped coming in in many places. The guide can only take out the photos of the mobile phone to fool us.
Tips: Remember to confirm what time they use before you go to the tour. We thought it was mountain time, but it turned out to be an hour early, hungry and doing nothing, and there was no place to sit for bad reviews
. In addition, prepare cash for tips and mandatory charges per person. 8 “protection fee” (cash only)
Taking pictures. If you have a Samsung phone, be sure to bring it. The iphone photos are really crap. We relied on a friend’s Samsung S8 the whole time. Absolute beauty is responsible.
Tour time: 2 hours
Lake Powell:
It is recommended to visit the above two attractions, first go to the page to eat and then go to Lake Powell to see the beautiful sunset
Tour time: 2 hours
Day3 Page -> monument Valley -> Bryce Canyon live in Bryce Canyon (drive ~ 6 hours)
Today is mainly to see Monument Valley. Although the distance is far away from Bryce Canyon, it is still two directions, but it is definitely worth it. If you’ve seen Forrest Gump, Transformers, etc., then more should go.
Monument Valley does not belong to the national park, so you need to buy a separate parking ticket, 20 for cars with less than 4 people, more than $6 per person per person, and 100 for Vans. Fortunately, we rented an 8-seater SUV
The best time to see Monument Valley is early morning or early evening. But our time is tight and we have to rush to Bryce Canyon at night. So no gold or purple Monument Valley in sight.
Tour time: 2 hours
Bryce Canyon: The sun hadn’t gone down when I drove to Bryce Canyon, so I went to Bryce Canyon with a wave of extreme operations. In the afterglow of the sunset, Bryce Canyon was so amazing that it became my favorite spot on this trip. .
Tour time: 2 hours
Day 4 Bryce Canyon -> Las Vegas -> Seattle (drive ~5 hours)
If you get up early enough, you can also go to Bryce Canyon to watch the sunrise, which will be particularly spectacular. Bryce Canyon is most famous for the Grand Theater. At first glance, it really looks like a grand stage. There are wonderful performances in the center of the stage, and the audience around is dumbfounded 🙂
We have to leave and return to Las Vegas at 11 o’clock, because the planes in the evening go back to their respective homes, and it takes 5 hours to drive back to Las Vegas . So I went to Bryce Canyon for a trail in the morning. There is a zigzag trail. The photo looks like a butterfly cake, which is very special. So I went to this one. It took about an hour and it was not difficult.
his trip:
Many surprises, because I saw more beautiful scenery than expected. It is not easy to travel together with graduate students after graduation. Unfortunately, there are also, such as:
It should be great to see the stars in the desert but it was too cold so gave up.
I didn’t see it as a show
Passed by Zion but didn’t have time to go for a walk
It was a boring Saturday afternoon. During that time, I watched too many documentaries about space and space. I was inexplicably depressed. I felt like Forrest Gump who was sitting at the door and started running, and wanted to stop Forrest Gump. Footsteps of Monument Valley to see what made him think of going home.
But I didn’t find the answer. That downright loneliness pervaded the West.
Yellow sand, gravel, the traveler’s wheel that never stops.
After 10,000 years of erosion, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, and Bryce Canyon, which is formed by repeated frost condensation and precipitation, are formed.
Everything seems to be the reincarnation of Sisyphus. Maybe the true meaning of life is that there is no meaning, all meaning is produced in the process of Sisyphus pushing the stone, and when we focus on this process, look a little short, and lower your body, the joy of this ordinary labor is to live significance?
And in this process, the people and things that accompany us are the warm light given by life?
Just like those two stones sitting opposite each other in Monument Valley, you stretch out your left hand, I stretch out my right hand, and we say hello to each other. For thousands of years, have been staring at each other
— I wish you good morning, good afternoon and good night, my friend.
