The Capilano Suspension Bridge is 137 meters long and hangs 70 meters above the Capilano River. It attracts thousands of tourists every year and is one of the most popular attractions in Vancouver. Because the suspension bridge is too high, tourists who are afraid of heights are reluctant to walk on the narrow bridge to experience it.
Landscape above the treetops
Although the park was built because of the bridge and attracts a lot of tourists every year, the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is much more than that. The newest attraction in the park is the Cliff Walk: a series of suspended walks anchored to the cliff. In some places, the plank road is paved with glass, and visitors can clearly see the cliffs below through the glass. The adventure tour above the treetops is another exciting and fun high-altitude experience. The project allows visitors to gain an in-depth understanding of the primeval forest from the perspective of a squirrel. Visitors can stroll along the bridge among the closely linked Douglas fir trees. Some of these trees are even 1300 years old. These bridges and viewing platforms are cleverly built into the trees, but no pins or bolts are used on the trunks, so there is no damage to the trees.
fairytale christmas lights
During Christmas, you can come to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park to participate in the Valley Lights Show, feel the strong festive atmosphere, and enjoy the perfect holiday experience. At that time, the suspension bridge will be decorated with hundreds of colorful lights, becoming a dazzling pearl in the dark valley. Various other areas of the park will also be decorated with beautiful lights. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park also boasts the world’s largest Christmas tree: a 250-year-old Douglas fir that reaches a height of 46.4 meters.
