One of the Top 10 Attractions in Vancouver, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is home to the famous, eponymous Capilano Suspension Bridge as well as several other outdoor adventure attractions, including Cliffwalk and Treetops Adventures.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Tickets

Located about 20 minutes north of Downtown Vancouver, the Capilano Suspension Bridge has wowed millions of visitors since its creation in 1889. Suspended 230 feet (70 metres) above the Capilano River, the Bridge spans 450 feet (137 metres) across and provides amazing views of the canyon below. Crossing the Bridge is a bit of an adventure and not for anyone who has a fear of heights–any day with strong winds, and you’ll feel the Bridge sway beneath your feet!

Today, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a virtual amusement park of outdoor attractions. For the cost of admission to the park, you can not only cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge, you can also see a “squirrel’s eye view” of the rainforest via Treetops Adventures or traverse the dramatic Cliffwalk, a 700-foot long (213 metres), 300-foot high (91 metres) walkway anchored to the east face of Capilano Canyon and suspended out and above the river. 

Getting to the Capilano Suspension Bridge

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is located at 3735 Capilano Road in North Vancouver.

You can drive–parking is available across the street from the entrance–but there are also free shuttles that will take you to the Park from Canada Place and several hotels in downtown Vancouver.

Making the Most of Your Visit

For your first visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, you should plan to spend about three hours exploring all of the Park’s features. Because the park is just 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver, you can easily combine a trip with a visit to other top Vancouver attractions, like Stanley Park or the Vancouver Aquarium.

Another option is to stay in North Vancouver. Grouse Mountain Resort is very close to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park; Grouse Mountain is open year-round, offering a variety of outdoor sports and activities, plus restaurants and fine-dining. Or, you can visit any of the other Top 5 Attractions in North Vancouver.

• What if it’s raining or snowing? Go anyway! The great people at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will give you plastic rain ponchos, if you need them, and even in bad weather the views from the Bridge and Cliffwalk are just as breathtaking!
• What about strollers or people with mobility issues? Sadly, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is not accessible to people with mobility issues. If you have trouble walking unaided, this isn’t the Vancouver attraction for you. Strollers are also not permitted on most of the attractions; you can take your baby, but only if she is securely carried in a front- or back-baby carrier (on your body).
